Ani Difranco

Angela Maria Ani DiFranco, is a singer-songwriter and Canadian American. She's released over 20 albums. DiFranco's music has been classified as folk-rock and alternative rock although it has additional influences from punk funk hiphop and jazz. Ani diFranco was among the first person to create her own record company in the year 1990. Ani is widely considered as a feminist icon. DiFranco was born on the 23rd September 1970 in Buffalo, New York. She is the daughter of Elizabeth (Ross), who had the pleasure of meeting Dante Americo DiFranco while studying at Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Her mother hails from Montreal and her father comes from Italian roots. Ani DiFranco sang and wrote 32 Flavors. The track is part of her 1995 album Not a Pretty Girl, which was DiFranco's 6th studio album. This song appears on the film's soundtrack the Canadian romance film Better Than Chocolate from 1999. DiFranco apology was made in the year 2013 when it was discovered she was planning to host an event for three days on an Louisiana ex-slave plantation.
