Ani Difranco

Angela Maria Ani DiFranco, an American-Canadian singer and songwriter. She has released more than 20 albums. DiFranco's music is categorized as folk-rock and alternative rock although it includes influences from punk hip hop, hip-hop and jazz. Ani DiFranco has been widely acknowledged as the feminist's icon and Grammy-winning artist is considered to be the first pioneer in DIY music. It was one of the first artists to establish an independent label back in 1990. DiFranco was born in Buffalo New York on September 23rd 1970. She is the daughter Elizabeth (Ross) and Dante Americo DiFranco and Dante Americo DiFranco, who become acquainted while at Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Her father is of Italian origin, while her mother hails from Montreal. 32 Flavors was recorded with and performed by Ani DiFranco.
