Ani Difranco
Angela Maria Ani DiFranco, an American-Canadian singer and songwriter. She has released more than 20 albums. DiFranco's music is categorized as folk-rock and alternative rock although it includes influences from punk hip hop, hip-hop and jazz. Ani DiFranco has been widely acknowledged as the feminist's icon and Grammy-winning artist is considered to be the first pioneer in DIY music. It was one of the first artists to establish an independent label back in 1990. DiFranco was born in Buffalo New York on September 23rd 1970. She is the daughter Elizabeth (Ross) and Dante Americo DiFranco and Dante Americo DiFranco, who become acquainted while at Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Her father is of Italian origin, while her mother hails from Montreal. 32 Flavors was recorded with and performed by Ani DiFranco. The track was first released on her 1995 sixth studio album Not a Pretty Girl. This track appears on the film soundtrack for the Canadian romantic drama Better Than Chocolate from 1999. In 2013, DiFranco apologized when it was revealed that she would be hosting 3 days of workshops at an old Louisiana slave plantation. The course was postponed, however, she did not express any regret. DiFranco apologized for her actions days later. She is known for her Little Folksinger music, but she's worked with many artists and styles including Pete Seeger to Chuck D. The singer lives in New Orleans. Ani diFranco, and Kristen Ford are together. When she was 14, she started to write her own music. She would perform them at bars and cafes throughout her teens. DiFranco began attending courses at Buffalo State College at age sixteen after having graduated from the Buffalo Academy for Visual and Performing Arts. Ani's new baritone was a custom Alvarez, made by Chrys Johnston, who at the time was working as the Alvarez Artist Representative.
